Behavioral

Animal behavior varies from species to species, as well as within one species. What is considered normal for one may not be so, for another. As an example, certain breeds of dogs are working breeds, such as Border Collies and Australian Shepherds. If these dogs are not provided with the level of physical activity and mental stimulation appropriate for them, they can adopt destructive habits, which are unacceptable to pet owners. Animal behavior also differs with a pet’s different life stages. As with human beings, puppies and kittens behave differently from adolescents, who behave differently from mature adults and geriatrics. The professional staff at Buena Vista Road Animal Hospital is well versed with the understanding of pet behavioral diversity. We are trained to diagnose behavioral problems and develop behavioral modification programs that are individualized for each patient. Please call Buena Vista Road Animal Hospital with any questions you may have regarding behavioral treatments. Our qualified staff will help set up an appointment for you and your pet.
